Canadian citizens, or a permanent resident of Canada, age 18 years or older, can sponsor certain members of their family to come to Canada to become permanent residents. If you decide to sponsor a relative to come to Canada as a permanent resident, you are responsible for financially supporting your relative when they arrive.
Eligible Family Members are as follows:
- Spouse, common-law partner or/and conjugal partner
- Parent or Grandparent
- Dependent children including adopted who are 21 years old or under
- Eligible Relative
